Bike The Emerald Necklace

Cyclists of all ages are invited to come experience Boston's "Tour de Necklace." Rangers will stop along the way to discuss significant sites. This year, the tour will also feature Art on The Emerald Necklace by stopping along the route to admire some the pieces as we go. The ride is approximately 13 miles and the pace is relaxed. FREDERICK LAW OLMSTED'S BROOKLINE:
A Neighborhood Walking Tour

Explore the pictureque community where Frederick Law Olmsted lived and worked in the late 19th century. Light refreshments and an optional tour of the historic Olmsted Office will also be offered at 12:30 pm.

WATERWAYS

Hikers of all ages are invited to follow the route water travels from Jamaica Pond to the Charles River. This walk will give a first hand look at lake, stream and pond environments In the City. Art on The Emerald Necklace works placed along the Muddy River will also be viewed during the walk. A representative from the Institute of Contemporary Art will be available to answers questions regarding the project.

We will spend two hours hiking through the country park and ante-park and discussing Olmsted;s design, as well as important natural, historicai and artistic features of the park. This year the "jewel" has been decorated with art as part of the Institute of Contemporary Art's Art on The Emerald Necklace. A representative from the ICA will be joining us to answers questions regarding the project.

We're in for a special treat this year, as a representative from the Institute of Contemporary Art will be joining us on this walk to highlight Art on the Emarld Necklace exhibits as we travel. We will guide you on this seven-mile hike through the Necklace with stops atnatural, historical, and artistic sites. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water. We will be out all day with a stop for lunch.
