The event will feature a Bicycle Concours and Swap Meet with expo-style displays certain to please seasoned enthusiasts, the occasional cycling participant, and anyone with nostalgic memories of bicycles from years gone-by. This years show will spotlight the long history of bicycle manufacturing in New England, both past and present. There will be displays of bicycles manufactured in New England, and David Herlihy, world renowned cycling historian, will present a slide presentation on the history of the bicycle with emphasis on New England's vital role in its evolution.

The Bicycle Concours will feature a display of bicycles from all periods - - antique, balloon tire, pre-war racer, vintage lightweight racing/touring, crate, custom, high-tech and more. Ther will be juried judging as well as peoples choice awards for the best entrant in each category. For 1998, the show will award $200 cash prizes for the best pre-1987 Colnago and best pre-1987 Hetchins.

The associated swap meet will provide all cycling enthusiasts with a great venue to buy/sell/trade bicycles, bicycle parts, and literature. It also promises to be a browsers delight. This event is sure to be the largest in the Northeast. In the Swap Meet area, manufactures, cycling organizations and retailers will be on hand to show the latest in cycling gear as well as provide information to both the experienced rider and the casual newcomer to the sport.

Last year's show was an overwhelming success, with over 1,200 people on the grounds. This year, with the GEAR Rally on the same weekend, the caliber of display and the quantity of swap meet participants will take the show one or two notches higher.
