The "Wave" tour crossed into Massachusetts from Rhode Island along the Blackstone River on Saturday June 3. ECG/Massachusetts Chair Steve Winslow and his wife, Helen, stayed in the area overnight and rode along the Blackstone River Bikeway to Worcester on Sunday, June 4, joined at the state park in Uxbridge by Doug Mink, who biked out from Boston. The three took the train to Boston with their bikes and split up at Back Bay Station, from whence Doug rode the Southwest Corridor home, connecting to the ride he had made the previous day to get water from the Neponset River.
On Wednesday, June 7, Doug Mink and Bill Reyelt led the Boston Bicycle Advisory Committee from City Hall through Back Bay to the Charles River, where they added water to the bottle, and then through Charlestown to the Mystic River, where they met Steve Winslow, who added water to the bottle from that River and headed north.
